Welcome to SKPA Udhampur
The Sher-I-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) at Udhampur was established as a Police Training College in 1981 and was later upgraded to its current status in April 1998. As the premier training institution for the Jammu and Kashmir Police, it has been the primary training ground for all directly recruited Dy.SsP since 1984.
The Academy is responsible for conducting critical induction courses for Dy.SsP, Prosecuting Officers, and Sub-Inspectors across the Armed, Executive, and Telecommunication wings. It also hosts promotion courses and over 38 specialized programs, training approximately 3,500 police personnel annually to meet the evolving challenges of law enforcement.
Our campus is spread over an expansive 2,200 Kanals of land, featuring state-of-the-art facilities including a Forensic Science Laboratory, Riding School, Semi-Automatic firing ranges, and Fire Arms Training Simulators. Located near village Badali just 3 KMs from Udhampur, the Academy provides a professional and serene environment dedicated to the development of ethics, integrity, and operational excellence.
